James R. Balkcom, Jr., or "Jim", serves as an Operating Partner at Council Capital. He has 30+ years of experience in corporate governance and finance and has extensive expertise in management assessment, development, and mentorship , and in creating and leading high-performance boards of directors.

Jim served as the President and CEO of both Techsonic Industries, Inc. (Humminbird) and Pameco Corp.,
and he has served as Chairman (at various levels) for TalentQuest, Inc., iKobo, Inc., EndoChoice, Inc., and Commercesouth, Inc., just to name a few.
