We have observed and learned much over the eight cohorts leading up to this point. Before we run another, and with that knowledge in hand, we have decided to take the coming months to diligently apply the deliberate innovation process to the Flashpoint concept itself as well as how we conduct the program. Accordingly, we will not be processing cohort 9 applications at this time.
We encourage you to keep in touch with us through our website where we will post all updates regarding future cohorts or Flashpoint events.

Our next cohort is expected to start this fall. For Cohort 9, Flashpoint is accepting applications from both pre-revenue and post-revenue startups that can benefit from the Deliberate Innovation approach. Applications submitted by 11:59 PM ET on Wednesday, August 15 will be considered for our initial round of interviews. We will begin filling our portfolio of companies after this date.
Flashpoint works closely with founders in a startup studio where they utilize the deliberate innovation process to develop exceptional opportunities
Georgia Tech recognized Dr. Merrick Furst’s development of these methods with the university’s highest award for Outstanding Achievement in Research Innovation.
Operating since 2011, Flashpoint is among the most experienced startup studios in the world. It is unique in its approach. Flashpoint startups have raised over $300 million from top tier venture firms. The companies in Flashpoint’s portfolio are valued at well over $1.4 billion. You can learn more about the Deliberate Innovation process in this keynote, details about Flashpoint's work with startups are in a Forbes interview with Dr. Merrick Furst, and in an excerpt from the recently released Harvard Business Review Press book, An Everyone Culture, Becoming a Deliberately Developmental Organization (Kegan and Lahey).
Flashpoint is a five-month full-time program based out of Atlanta. Flashpoint is interested in working with founders who can find value in learning to be deliberately innovative. New for Cohort 9, Flashpoint is also accepting applications from post-revenue startups that can benefit from this approach. Flashpoint requires accepted pre-revenue startups to be or convert to US C- Corporations. Invited pre-revenue startups receive a $20,000 investment as a SAFE, from an independent fund (created, in part, by successful companies developed at Flashpoint.) In addition, Flashpoint purchases 7% of company stock. For post-revenue companies, please contact us to learn more about how Flashpoint can work with you.
Flashpoint’s next batch is expected to start this summer.
